Building Community Free From Sexual Violence

Our Vision
A world free of sexual violence.

We believe that it’s possible for people to live in communities that are safe, with healthy empowering relationships of respect and equality.

We envision that our organization and its relationships, advocacy, community engagement, education and prevention—and all we do-- results in individual and community transformation.

Our Mission
The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end sexual violence in Lowell and the greater Merrimack Valley communities of Acton, Billerica, Boxborough, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, Littleton, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Westford, and Wilmington.

  • We support individual survivors by creating a safe environment, utilizing trauma-informed, empowering approaches and offering hope and support to engage in the healing process.

  • We advocate for individuals and significant others affected by sexual violence to start their own process.

  • We promote equity and culturally relevant services for marginalized or disenfranchised survivors of sexual violence.

  • We engage individuals through raising awareness and educating the community at large to prevent sexual violence.

  • We build community by creating and sustaining relationships that increase social justice, individual well-being and reduce negative impacts of all forms of violence and oppression; particularly rape and sexual assault.

  • We organize and empower individuals and communities to participate in the social change movements to improve safety, respect, and equality.

Today, with a staff of eleven and 15-20 volunteers on average, CHH is the only sexual assault program serving  Lowell and 13 surrounding communities. CHH provides 24 hour, 7 days/week crisis hotline, advocacy and medical accompaniment to survivors of rape and their significant others.  CHH also provides community outreach, training and awareness about preventing sexual violence.
